Birth and Postpartum Doula
I’m a certified birth and postpartum doula serving families in the Bay Area for over a decade now. My roots are in Northern Idaho where I grew up in Clark Fork, a small town nestled in the mountains. What originally brought me to California 16 years ago was actually singing! I have a bachelor degree in vocal performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where I primarily studied classical technique. Working with my voice provided me with a deep understanding of breath and prompted me to further explore the intricacies of the human body. This journey led me to India, where I immersed myself in the study of yoga and meditation. Today, I integrate these skills into my work as a birth doula, assisting individuals in connecting with their bodies and finding their voice throughout the birthing process and pregnancy.

As a doula, my mission is to provide personalized support, advocacy, and guidance to birthing individuals, ensuring they feel empowered and respected throughout their birthing experience. Labor can look different for everyone! Listening to the birthing person's intuition and staying present with them in the moment is how I help my clients find their rhythm and flow in labor. I believe in informed consent and bodily autonomy and it is my goal to make sure that all birthing people feel that they are being cared for and listened to in their birth experience. Birth can feel vulnerable at times so I aim to create an environment that feels safe, compassionate and nonjudgmental.
My Philosophy
It is my goal to provide continues support, compassionate advocacy, and empowering guidance to birthing individuals and their families throughout their unique journey of childbirth. I believe in honoring the innate wisdom of each person, fostering a nurturing environment where they feel heard, respected, and empowered to make informed choices. I strive to create a positive and empowering birthing experience for each family and person I work with.
Birth stands as one of life's most significant transitions for most, with countless unknowns. I believe that amidst the unknown, there exists an opportunity for individuals to discover their inner strength and resilience. My philosophy is grounded in the belief that while birth may be scary, it is also an incredibly transformative and empowering experience.
By creating a safe and supportive environment, where individuals feel heard and respected, they can tap into their innate ability to find focus amidst the intensity of sensations within their body. I believe in empowering individuals to find their own rhythm and flow amidst the challenges and uncertainties of childbirth. I rely heavily on listening to the birthing person's intuition and staying present with them in the moment.
My birth philosophy is grounded in the principles of body autonomy, informed consent, and the delivery of unbiased, evidence-based information. I believe in honoring each individual's right to make informed decisions about their body and their birth experience, free from coercion or judgment.
